COLLECTION OF CYCLE PACK

Today I was on annual leave mainly to collect something important on behalf of my boy. On 08 August 2011, I have registered Kit boy for the coming OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011 which will be held at Dataran Merdeka on 15 October 2011 and 16 October 2011 at a fee of RM25 for Early Bird registration.

He will be taking part in the Tricycle Ride (100m) category which scheduled to be held on the first day of the 2 days event... which means tomorrow at 4:30pm. And all participants were asked to collect their Cycle Pack at the Avenue K, Ground floor from 10:00am to 9:00pm today.

We reached Avenue K at about 11:15am and the crowd is still not there yet especially for the Tricycle Ride counter. After showing the confirmation email to one of the delegated staffs, I was then asked to proceed straight to the respective counter to collect the cycle pack.

At the counter, after verification, I was then given a nice canvas bag that consist of the BIB number (623), bike tag, BIB number stickers for the helmet, a bottle of 100 Plus, a water container, a sample bottle of the Shokubutsu Active Guard Anti Bacterial shower foam (40ml), some OCBC bank brochures and last but not least, the limited edition event T-shirt for little Kit boy.

Besides the collection counters, there are also booths selling various bike related stuffs.

OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011 is Malaysia's first-ever mass participation cycling event on closed roads for everyone from beginners to pros flagging off at Dataran Merdeka. This event has been endorsed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Malaysian National Cycling Federation; is an extension of one of the largest mass-participation events in Asia.

Cyclist from all skill levels will be able to participate in different categories, including The Challenge (52Km), The Community Ride (21Km), The Mighty Savers Kids Ride (4Km), The Tricycle Ride (100m) and The Polygon Foldies Community Ride (21Km) for folding bike enthusiasts too.

What's more, Malaysia's top 100 national cyclists will also be there to join in for the Kenny Heights Ultimate City Race 2011 and that will definitely be a fantastic addition to the OCBC Cycle Malaysia programme list.

With that, I believed Kit boy will have a fun and unique experience tomorrow. Stay tune.

BEST 'FATHER-AND-SON' PHOTO

This is actually a backdated post.

Can't really remember the actual date but on one weekday morning during office hour, my boss happily passed me a CD and told me that the photographs taken during the wedding dinner are finally ready. No...not his wedding dinner but his beloved daughter, Stephanie Chan's wedding dinner that my whole family has attended on 20 August 2011.

About 30 minutes later, my boss called again and asked whether I have seen the photos. And I thought he needs it back urgently, so I just stop what I am doing, slot in the CD and started viewing the photographs one after another.

Suddenly this picture came out right in front of me. SURPRISE!!. My two darlings' beautiful shot. Precious.

I think this picture was taken by the photographer during the cocktail reception when I was busy helping my boss at the registration table before the dinner. That's why I were not aware about this.

And now, I totally understand my boss intention. Not that he needs the CD back urgently but he just wanted me to see my beautiful son and lovely husband. This will be the best father-and-son picture that we have at this point in time because ever since Kit boy started to walk confidently, taking picture of him is no longer an easy task. Not even when we carry him as he never stop moving.

THE BIG BAD WOLF RETURNS

MALAYSIA AGRO EXPOSITION PARK SERDANG

As at today, I believed many of you are aware of the current on-going Big Bad Wolf book sales that just started on last Friday (07 October 2011) till coming Sunday (16 October 2011) and this 10 days event is being held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Selangor.

Despite this is the forth time they hold such book sale since its inception in 2009 as stated in the newspaper recently, but this would be our second time visiting such mega book clearance sale with discount up to as high as 95%.

We went last Sunday (09 October 2011) and managed to grab the following books. Total spent RM175.00.

GRADUATION & CONCERT 2011

CIVIC CENTRE, MAJLIS BANDARAYA PETALING JAYA
This morning we attended little Kit boy's school concert cum graduation (for the Year 6 students) at the Civic Centre, MBPJ. Due to the limited number of tickets given by the school for each family, grandma and grandpa were unable to go with us. But I'm sure they will get to watch it later when we got a copy of the VCD.

Yesterday, Mommy not only found the entrance tickets to the concert in Kit boy's homework pouch but also a copy of the Information Booklet that clearly stated the drop off time and location of the students as they need to be at the hall a few hours before the show starts mainly for rehearsal purposes. And for Kit boy, we are suppose to drop him at 12:30pm. In the said booklet, it also listed the concert proper/agenda and the dismissal of the students after their performance. For Year 2011, the Graduation Concert was entitled "A Rainbow Nation", a tribute to Malaysia.

The traffic was quite smooth this morning and therefore we reached the Civic Centre at about 11:55am. However, Kit boy was not allowed to go in and we were advised to drop him off only at 12:30pm as scheduled and this is mainly to ensure that the flow is not interrupted.

Since Kit boy will be engaged in the concert for the whole day, Daddy suggested going for another round of 'makan' and drove us straight to the nearby A&W for some quick snacks.

While we were enjoying our favourite root beer float and hotdogs, it started to rain quite heavily. At 12:25pm, Daddy has to run in the rain to get his car and drove over to pick us up. Luckily the rain was not that heavy at that point in time and none of us got really wet.

This time round we reached the drop off point sharp at 12:30pm but because it was still raining, many cars were lining up taking turns to drop off their child while some parents were walking across the road very quickly carrying their little one. It seems a little messy but everything is still under control with the help of all the dedicated teachers together with the security guards assigned.

After Kit boy was escorted by his form teacher into the hall, Daddy drove over to the other side for a better car park and we then took a short nap in the car while waiting for the event to kick start at 3:00pm.

By 2:15pm, many parents, including ourselves, were already queuing up at the main entrance to the auditorium but the door only opens at 3:00pm instead of 2:30pm as scheduled reason being the kids were not ready.

A mere 15 minutes of slide shows on all the school activities being held for the past 10 months were projected on the big screen followed by some announcements made by the school principal before the official opening of the Graduation & Concert 2011.

Yes, he is the one who goes without the cap. This little fella just refused to wear the cap despite the teacher trying to put it on for him for a few times.

The whole concert ended at 5:30pm, about 30 minutes earlier than the estimated time. I must say that this is another successful event held by the school and as a parent, I really appreciate it and would like to thank the principal together with the teachers for all their valuable time and efforts, not only organizing such meaningful event but also training our children full-heartedly.

婆婆 61ST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Yesterday night we had a very nice and warm yet simple family dinner celebrating 婆婆's 61 years old birthday at Sekinchan Ikan Bakar, Bandar Mahkota Cheras outlet. This outlet has actually opened for quite sometime but we have yet to try it out until yesterday as 婆婆 loves spicy food.

We reached the restaurant at about 7:50pm, still not many patrons yet but all their well dressed waiters and waitresses are fully prepared to serve. We were led to the fresh seafood counter to select our favourite 'ingredients'. Despite there are not many choices, but is good enough for us to have a scrumptious dinner.

While waiting for the food to be served, patrons were being entertained by a 'Live Solo'. He can sing pretty well, both English and Malay songs. He even sang a Happy Birthday song for 婆婆 together with all the staffs joining in the celebration.

About 30 minutes later, what we have ordered, one after another were being served on our table and it all looks so tempting and delicious. Since Kit boy can't take spicy food, Daddy actually bought a pack of chicken rice for him.

Overall the food served is good, tasty, not too spicy and the pricing also quite reasonable at a total of RM59.30. Next round will definitely try out their 'big' prawn.

After dinner, we headed straight home for our cake cutting ceremony.

NINE EMPEROR GODS FESTIVAL 2011

ANBANG NAN TIEN TEMPLE, AMPANG (南天宮安邦)

Going for the Nine Emperor Gods prayer is one of our family annual activities without failed for many years and that was what we just did this morning.

As usual, we woke up slightly earlier, got prepared and went straight to pick up both grandma and grandpa before departing to Anbang Nan Tien Temple (南天宮安邦) for the prayer and this seems to be quick routine to us.

This year, the Nine Emperor Gods prayer kicked start from 27 September 2011 (九月初一) to 05 October 2011 (九月初九) and normally the crowd during weekend will be much more heavier than weekdays.

The minute we reached the temple, got our car parked after few rounds of searching, we then started doing our usual things as follow:

As usual, grandpa and grandma will go into the temple to worship while four of us (Daddy, Mommy, 婆婆 and little Kitboy) will just wonder around outside the temple. But this year, we do stepped into the temple for a very short while before we started wondering around.

As usual, there will be many stalls selling pre-packed joss sticks, ang-ku kueh (红龟包), 转运风车, traditional handmade 面粉公仔, vegetarian food and etc.

As usual, little Kit boy will make a guaranteed stop at this stall that sells colourful 转运风车 and asked for one. And this would be his forth 转运风车.

And as usual, we will have Ampang Yong Tau Fu for our lunch after grandma and grandpa have done with their worshiping.

I hope 婆婆, grandma and grandpa will be blessed with good health, while hubby 工作顺利 and little Kit boy 快高长大.

A' FAMOSA RESORT HOTEL, MALACCA

DAY 2 - 24 SEPTEMBER 2011, SATURDAY

With a good night rest and healthy home-prepared breakfast, everyone was fully charged and ready to explore the Animal World Safari that houses more than 150 species of animal.

Once we have done with the packing up of our luggage, Daddy drove straight to the front office counter to check-out and returned the room key as we definitely will not have the time to do it later with so many interesting animal shows lining up one after another starting from 10:15am right up to 12:00 noon.

We entered into the Animal World Safari at about 10:10am, just nice to catch their first Elephant Show scheduled at 10:15am. Many people were already seated with majority students in groups.

All the audiences were greeted by 7-8 adorable elephants before the actual show starts at about 10:25am.

These huge but gentle mammals performed a variety of tricks including painting and also 'drama' acting.

The Elephant Show ended at about 10:50am and we were recommended to go for the tiger feeding session at 11:00am. We just followed the same crowd to the truck station and queue up for the 'cage' truck ride that will drive us into the Walk Thru Area to have a real close-up with the wildlife including those fiery big cats.

The road into the wildlife 'home' was really bumpy going up and down hills and it took us about 30 minutes to complete the whole adventurous ride.

After saying good bye to all those animals staying in the Walk Thru Area, it was then time to catch the next show...the Multi Animal Show at 11:20am.

We were actually 10 minutes late for the show and have missed the earlier part performed by the porcupine. I believed it must be very interesting too as the rest of the performers were all so cute and funny with their various tricks especially the smiling buffalo and the water diving monkey.

At 12:00pm sharp, we moved on for the Bird Show which is just next to the Multi Animal Show.

There were so many species of birds parading on the stage one after another performing their best tricks to attract the crowd. Parrots were not only singing Happy Birthday song, imitating other animal's sound including puppies, they even did art painting. Others like pigeons, the White-Bellied Sea Eagle and Jacko, the Great Hornbill who will swoop in from the trees and catch his food in mid-air have never failed to catch the audience attention too.

But the most magical moment was when the emcee announced that we will have a chance to go up close with the birds for a memorable photo shoot. The audience was actually urged to do a donation of RM10.00 minimum mainly for all these adorable creatures in the Animal World Safari and as an appreciation, the donor will be given a piece of art drawn by John the parrot.

For those who are keen to make the donation were asked to hold the dollar note as per demonstrated by the bird trainer and 'someone' specially delegated will come to get the money from us.

Sound so interesting and I believed it would be a very good experience for my little explorer. Immediately Daddy took out a RM10.00 note and got little Kit boy to hold it as the way shown. Just after waited for a while, a beautiful pure white parrot flew over from the stage right up to us and stood firmly on Kit boy's hand before picking up the RM10.00 note with its sharp peak effortlessly. All these happened so fast in less than a minute but luckily Daddy managed to capture a few shots of this memorable moment. And in return, we were given a masterpiece by Artist John.

However, maybe Kit boy is not so much into birds as compared to other bigger animals as he became quite restless after that and keep asking to go out even before the show ends. Lovely Daddy is always the one who sacrifice anything just to fulfill his boy's wish. Daddy volunteered to bring Kit boy out for a walk while Mommy stayed put together with grandma and 婆婆 until the show ends at about 12:30pm.

We then walked towards the exit to meet up with Daddy and upon reaching the main entrance, we saw both father and son happily enjoying a huge plate of fried chicken chop with crispy fries. Wow...looks really tempting and it tasted good too. We then ordered some coconut drinks for both grandma and 婆婆. We took a rest before saying good bye to the Animal World Safari.

After we left A' Famosa, instead of driving back to KL, Daddy took us to Malacca town for the ever famous chicken rice ball. We went to this Restoran Famosa Chicken Rice Ball located in Jonker Street for a late lunch.

Daddy commented that the rice ball is rather hard mainly because nowadays machines are being used to mould the rice ball instead of human hands. But of course, it is much cleaner and hygienic as compared to those years. Whatever it is, we had a stomach filling lunch that cost Daddy a round up of RM90.00 before departing for our home-sweet-home.

We arrived home at about 6:45pm and everybody was so exhausted especially Daddy after the long hours drive. Overall, this 2days/1night trip exploring A' Famosa in Malacca was quite fun, adventurous and full of excitement.

And last but not least, as usual, Mommy brought home the following souvenirs.

A' FAMOSA RESORT HOTEL, MALACCA

We had a wonderful 2days/1night family trip to A'Famosa Resort Hotel in Malacca. Booking was actually made during the Matta fair which was held in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur last month at a very good package rate. Even the admission ticket to the Animal World Safari, Cowboy Town and also Water World were selling only at RM20.00 per person each. Instead of during the recent long holidays, we actually opt for an off-peak period to travel mainly to avoid the crowd and we just need to take a day off to have a more relaxing holiday with much lesser queuing ups.

DAY 1 - 23 SEPTEMBER 2011, FRIDAY

Woke up quite early to do some final packing before waking up little Kit boy at about 7:40am. As planned, after picking up grandma, we proceed straight to McDonald for a 'Family Breakfast Box' together with a hot cup of premium roasted coffee before departing for Malacca.

We drove passed the border line into Malacca state at about 11.45am and reached our destination at 12.15pm. We then went straight to the Check-In counter trying our luck to see if we can go for an early check-in provided there are units available but unfortunately, the Front Office staff only allowed us to register and check-in was strictly after 4:00pm. After all the necessary procedures, we then meet up with a few of Daddy's friends at the Water World theme park entrance.

There were many heart stopping water slides in the Water World but Kit boy is too young to experience those. For his safety purposes, we only allows him to try out the Wave Pool, Family Raft Slide, the Arabian Village and of course, the Kid Adventure Pool. He enjoyed all of them particularly the Arabian Village and he was there most of the time.

We were under the hot sun in the theme park for more than 4 hours before going back to the Check-In counter to collect our room key at about 5:45pm.

We were allocated to Unit No. 1808 located at the 18th Floor of Tower 1. The unit was actually quite spacious with two Queen-size beds in a room and a very nice view of the golf course from the balcony. There is also a wet and dry kitchen but with no cooking utensils as guests are strictly not allow to do any cooking. However, we did brought some food from home like bread with jam, some 3-in-1 beverages, biscuits and also Maggie Mee cup.

At 7:00pm, after gathering with Daddy's friends who are also staying at the same floor, we then drove to the Cowboy Town that features a wide variety of outlets where entertainment is the name of the game such as restaurants, disco, beer garden, shopping village, pub, game centre, bowling alley, children theme park and funfair. But the most overwhelming would be the Carnival Show that has now became a nightly event in the A' Famosa Cowboy Town instead of a yearly-event starting from 8:30pm to 10:30pm daily.

While waiting for the Carnival Show to start, we made a pit stop at the Cowboy Town Kopitiam located just before the exit to have a quick dinner. Since we have taken (eaten) something earlier in our room, Daddy just ordered a plate each of their Chicken Fried Rice and Penang Fried Koey Teow together with 3 cans of carbonated drinks. The food served here is quite tasty but obviously much expensive.

By 8:30pm, we were already seated comfortably waiting for the excitement to roll in. After about 10 minutes, the Carnival Show started with a bang by the Red Indians performing the heady fire-blowing act. These brave warriors were blowing flames from their mouths and also fire-eating. But mainly due to the extremely loud sound system plus the totally blackout during the Red Indians Show, Kit boy was actually very restless, clinging tightly to his Daddy exactly like a koala bear and kept asking us to leave the place when everybody was so engrossed in the show. Luckily it was just for a mere 15 minutes before they lighted up the street again for the next performers.

With the lights on, this little fella feel much better and able to enjoy the rest of the show especially the Animal Parade with all the adorable elephants, camels, horses, orangutans, clowns, mascots, gorgeous dancers, colourful floats and many more.

Before the Carnival Show ends, audience was asked to do a countdown from 5 for the fireworks display. Wow...it was so near just right above us and it was really beautiful. It all lasted for a mere 10 minutes and the whole show ended at about 10:20pm.

After the show, we went for the antique car ride as requested by little Kit boy after Mommy has bought some souvenirs from the Shopping Village. It cost us RM10.00 per car ride. Including the driver, all six of us were squeezed into a nicely decorated antique car that took us around the Cowboy Town in less than 5 minutes. Very fun and our darling boy enjoy the most despite the fact that he is almost half into his dreamland.

We left A' Famosa Cowboy Town about 10:45pm and back to our room for a good night sleep.

Started blogging since year 2009 and Mommy thinks that is time to make some changes on the outlook of the site especially when little Kit boy has grown up so much.

After taken some time going through hundreds of Kit boy's recent photos taken, finally Mommy decided to update my Precious blog using this one.

And here comes the new look of OUR PRECIOUS LITTLE KIT BOY.

Actually not much changes made, just the photo and blog background but Mommy finds it good enough especially when Mommy is not very good in IT stuff.

When comes to doing crafty work or even his favourite hand printing, is still very much depends on his mood at that point of time despite he loves messing up with the colour paint. Normally I will be the one who 'call' for this session and quite seldom he will reject me.

But surprisingly yesterday HE ASKED FOR IT for the very first time. After picking him up from grandma's house and the minute we stepped into our house, he started asking for it. He was happily telling me that he wanted to do some painting and of course I will be more than happy to hear that.

Immediately I got the blue colour paint ready (he only requested for blue) together with the paint brush and a piece of art block for this little artist to start his masterpiece.

He started painting very patiently in the study room and after just a mere 15 minutes, dang dang dang dang....here is the masterpiece.....Blue Ocean.

Also for the very first time that this litte fella able to 'complete' painting the whole piece of art block without much empty spaces left. I think it is another achievement as he normally just scribbled and that's it.

Keep it up my boy.

IMPROVING ON HAND-EYE COORDINATION

These days Kit boy is quite into jigsaw puzzle despite this has already been introduced to him when he was two years old.

For the passed 2-3 weeks, he has been asking for his box of puzzle before going to bed and recently, he even challenged me to complete all the 8 puzzles in the box to see who is faster. And of course, I am more than happy to accept his 'challenge'.

Like for yesterday, as usual, I will let him choose his preferred set of puzzle first before we start (as there are altogether 3 boxes of puzzle that I have bought for him so far from Popular Bookstore which is the Insect, Transport and Ocean) and normally he will select the transportation set while I will get the other.

Once we are ready with our box of puzzle in front of us, he will then start doing it patiently one after another and when he was done with all the 8 puzzles before I, he will happily announced himself as the winner.

From here, I can really see that he has improved a lot when comes to puzzles game as compared to few months back. Besides, he has also improved on his hand-eye coordination skill too.

Hopefully he will continue to progress from here and just to motivate him further, I actually bought him another new set of jigsaw puzzle from Popular Bookstore - Yummy Fruits which is equally fun.

REDEMPTION OF CARS MERCHANDISE

On 21 August 2011, while running through my long list of unread emails, I suddenly spotted an email from BonusLink and it gets my attention almost immediate.

Yes...is the whole range of exclusive Cars merchandise for Bonus point redemption and I know for sure my boy will loves it very very much especially those backpacks that he has always been asking for one. Now...is the right time to get this little fella some collections of Cars stuffs especially when Cars 2 will be on the big screen starting tomorrow. Furthermore, is FREE.

Since this has to be redeemed on-line, the process will be even much easier. Firstly, I will have to log-in by keying in my BonusLink card number and the password, of course, then goes to Highlight and select Redeem Cars Merchandise Now!. There are all sorts of very nice Cars merchandise especially the different types of bag but since Kit boy has already got a trolley bag from MeadJohnson during their Smart Camp, I decided to get him this backpack.
After I have selected the item, the next screen will show my points balance upon redemption.

And the moment I clicked on the button to redeem, a Confirmation Slip with my Redemption Reference number pops up almost instantly.

It is just as easy as ABC and I shall be expecting it in 2-4 weeks time. Just can't wait to receive Kit boy's first Lightning McQueen backpack and to see him smiling from ear to ear.

The following is my next target and just hope that I will be able accumulate enough points to redeem before 15 November 2011 or While Stocks Last.

ENFAGROW A+ SMART CAMP

SUNWAY PYRAMID SHOPPING MALL

We were in Sunway Pyramid last Sunday for the Enfagrow A+ Smart Camp for the very first time and I believed it was another successful event held by MeadJohnson.

We arrived at the event area at about 2:00pm and the whole concourse was crowded with parents queuing up patiently together with their kids to participate in the games. Without wasting much time, we joined in the line for the first game.....DHA EXPERT where Kit boy was asked to pick up 3 blue colour ping-pong size balls and place it on the allocated DHA board before adding the DHA to get the right formula. Kit boy was very excited especially when comes to 'balls' and in less than 30 seconds, he has already placed all the 3 blue balls on the board.

He was then given a Enfagrow A+ Observer Amazing Achievers booklet and was asked to complete the other three games in order for him to redeem the goodies.

Next was the HOT SPELL where Kit boy was asked to put out the fire by spelling out a simple word on the touch screen and his was E for Elephant.

After getting the sticker, we then moved on to the third game... the MUSIC MATCH. Firstly, Kit boy was asked to put on the headphone, listen to the music played and then select the right musical instrument by spinning the disc. No sweat.

And lastly was the SPACE WALK. All he needed to do is to look into the telescope to see whatever he wanted to see and run through the 'space walk' after that before jumping into a pool of balls...again.

Mission completed and after collected our goodies, we bought 3 tins of Enfagrow A+ at a promotional price and was entitled for a free trolley school bag for Kit boy. There were 3 different designs for us to choose from and Kit boy has chosen the spaceship.

SPORTS DAY 2011

This was actually a back dated post. On 10 July 2011 (Saturday), we were all in the Stadium Badminton Cheras attending Kit boy's Sports Day. He was in the Blue Team and hence, all of us were dressed up in blue including 婆婆. See how supportive we are?

Not only Kit boy but all of us were very excited on that day. We woke up quite early in the morning to get ourselves prepared before departing from home at about 7:30am despite the fact that we only need to be there by 9:00am. We picked up grandma from my in-law's house and proceed straight to Taman Connaught for a scrumptious dim sum breakfast before going to the stadium which Daddy said is quite nearby.

We reached the stadium at 9:00am sharp and many students together with their parents were already waiting outside for further instruction from the teachers.

While we were there waiting, Kit boy already started warming-up by running here and there excitedly. He even ‘introduced’ some of his classmates to me as and when he bumped into them.

At about 9:30am, teachers started calling for the parents to queue up for the student's name tags and after collected the said tag, Kit boy was then escorted by his form teacher into the stadium while we too hurried up into the stadium for a 'strategic' place to do our cheering and of course, photo shooting.

Teachers were fully occupied making sure that all their students are inside the stadium while putting on the colour stripe for the kids based on the house-colour accordingly.

When all the students are ready, they kicked start the annual event with a grand marching by the students together with their form teachers.

Then followed by the singing of NegaraKu, pledging and also an opening speech given by the Headmistress.

Next was the Pompom Dance presented by the Year 6 students and they were marvelous.

Kit boy took part in the Pick 'em Keep 'em event and that was the first lining up on the sports program list. All he needs to do is to pick up those bean bags that were already placed inside the loop and put it into the basket one after another until he reached his team mate at the opposite side.

See…they are the Year 3 students waiting for their turn to compete with each other. Don’t you think they are cute?

Mission completed and his team (blue) has got the third placing. The excitement continues right up to the parent's game which we did not participate for this year.

And lastly was the awards presentation to all the winners before the official closing ceremony.

Attended a media launch of the "Aim for Broader Coverage, it's as easy as ABC" on last Wednesday by Pfizer. But before I start sharing what is the event all about, first of all, I would like to thank a new friend of mine from Pitter Patter who are kind enough to extend this invitation to me, or else, I would not have the opportunity. Thanks Elaine.

Pfizer together with partners, Parenting2U, Pitter Patter, SAP and SJ Echo, are calling all parents to act on Pneumococcal Disease prevention and seeking everyone's help to widely spread the message of protection to reduce the risk of this deadly disease for all children. I believed that many of you would have heard of Pneumococcal Disease but what is Pneumococcal Disease?

Pneumococcal Disease is caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae or normally known as pneumococcus which is commonly found in respiratory tract of young children and is easily spread by just coughing and/or sneezing. Pneumococcus attack different parts of the body that causes Meningitis (Infection of lining of the brain and spinal cord), Bacteremia (Infection in the bloodstream), Pneumonia (Infection of the lung) and Otitis Media (Infection of the middle ear) and may lead to serious brain damage, loss of hearing or even death.

Children below 5 years of age, children attending day care and/or nursery, children and elderly above 65 years old who have weak immune systems and also those who are suffering from chronic medical conditions are all at high risk and should be protected from this disease.

How? Well, it can be treated with antibiotics but in recent years, pneumococcal bacteria have been found to be resistant to the commonly used antibiotics and thus, make treatment even more difficult. Therefore, the best way to prevent against Pneumococcal Disease is definitely through vaccination.

Back to the media launch. It started at about 2:35pm with a welcome speech given by Ms. Angel Choi, the Country Manager for Pfizer Malaysia and Brunei.

Next was Dato Dr. Musa Nordin telling us what is Pneumococcal Disease all about and the important of protection for our young children.

Last but not least, our ever popular singer, Sheila Majid sharing with us her own experience as a mother and also some valuable tips.

Last Saturday Daddy again went for his wine tasting with his friend and again I requested to be dropped at Mid Valley Shopping Centre as I need to redeem some vouchers at ToysRUs together with 婆婆 and of course our little explorer.

We reached the ever crowded shopping mall at about 3:30pm and proceed straight to KFC just for a quick lunch. Oh yes...for those of you who loves the collection of cars models, look out for their new limited edition of Mini Cooper collection. You can get it either at RM5.50 with every purchase of their new Ole Pocketful or at RM8.00 with any purchase at KFC. Altogether there are 6 designs and I have got the blue one for my boy at RM8.00 because I always preferred their fried chicken. For more information, can check it out HERE.

After filling up our stomach, I suggested making a pit stop at MPH bookstore before going to ToysRUs to redeem our gift voucher. While we are walking towards MPH, we heard some scary roaring sound and were getting nearer and nearer. Kit boy started to ask..."Mommy, what sound is that?". I have got no idea at that point of time but can always check it out and I believed there must be something interesting going on.

We walked further up and we saw this.

Yes... it was Castrol Malaysia. They were running a road show in Mid Valley promoting their Magnatec range of engine oil. According to them, the Start-up engine wear is just like a 'Monster' 'eating up' your car engine if it is not properly care off but with their Magnatec range of engine oil, it actually started protecting your car engine the moment you turn your key. The only lubricant that combines intelligent molecules that cling and bond to the metal surfaces in your engine, forming an extra layer that protects during start-up and beyond. Sounds really good and for those who loves your car, better move fast before it is too late.

During the road show, there were many interesting games and attractive prizes to be won but we did not participate in any of those due to time constraint except for this unique one where we were asked to challenge the 'Monster'.

Firstly, we were asked to stand inside a circle facing the big screen. We will then appeared on the screen where the 'Monster' came out and tried to get hold of us from behind but with just one drop of the Castrol Magnatec, we were fully protected from the 'Monster'. Quite interesting and all participants were given a copy of the photo after that for free. And here is ours. By the way, the roaring sound that we heard earlier was actually came from this 'Monster'.

We then proceeded to redeem our RM10.00 gift vouchers from ToysRUs before Daddy came to fetch us home at about 6:00pm.

DADDY'S NEW BRIEFCASE

From the title, I believed that many of you have got a brief idea of what my post content is going to be. Yes, daddy has got a new briefcase but unfortunately he can only admire it and not using it. Despite the fact, he still loves it very very much.....I think more than what I have bought for him so far. What so special? Let's see.

Yes....is a gift to Daddy from little Kit boy. Daddy was so happy to receive his first Father's Day hand-made present from his darling boy. Kit boy did it himself in school last week, of course with the help from his form teacher, and personally handed it over to his Daddy on last Friday when we picked him up at grandpa's place.

Actually I already knew about this last Tuesday when Kit boy told me that he has made something for Daddy. But I just keep it to myself in order to give hubby a surprise. Remember, normally I will asked Kit boy what he has learned in school everyday when we are on our way home. That's how I came to know about it.

SUNWAY PYRAMID SHOPPING CENTRE

Yesterday we were in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre as Mommy promised Kit boy that we will bring him to pay Lightning McQueen a visit. Yeah…..this cheeky red racing car will be on the big screen again this coming August 2011 and in view of this, he and his fellow dude, Mater is there meeting up with their die-hard fans and at the same time, promoting Cars2.

Kit boy was so excited the minute he sees these two ever famous characters and kept asking me to take pictures of them.

After all the photo shooting session, our next stop was the T&T Kidz Park and yesterday, our little explorer tried on something new together with Daddy...................the Bumper car. Daddy and son team went bumping from car to car and from one corner to the other. I just love to see how they enjoyed themselves on this bumper car, despite it cost me RM12.00 for that short few minutes per ride, it still worth it. Why? Just take a look at these photographs.....priceless.

Kit boy kept asking for more even after three rounds but luckily we still managed to pull him away without much hassle. And we then went for our early Father's Day celebration at Fong Lye Restaurant located at the lower ground floor that serves mainly Taiwanese cuisine. Since 婆婆 preferred oriental food, we went for this instead of western food.

School holiday is coming to an end and just another three more days to go before the next school term starts on Monday. I believed it will be another exciting and challenging term ahead for both the kids and their parents especially when stepping into the second half of the year.

However, before the next term starts, as usual, I would just like to recall what Kit boy has done or learned in school so far.

He is improving gradually everyday since the first day he stepped into the classroom but definitely there are still many more rooms for him to improve and at this point of time, the first thing that I wanted him to improve is his colouring skill. We were in Mines Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) last weekend for their annual international book fair, READ Malaysia 2011. If you can remember, this would be my second time exploring this book fair. If not, check it out HERE.

However, this time round, I went alone well prepared with my empty rucksack and reached the exhibition hall at 11:00am sharp just to avoid the heavy traffic later on. No entrance fee, no registration required.

After 5 hours of circling the same area with my backpack weighing at least 8kg and above, Daddy came to my ‘rescue’. Daddy came together with popo and of course Kit boy and joined me at about 4:30pm. After leaving behind all my ‘treasure’ in the car, we went back into the exhibition hall again and this time was Daddy’s turn to hunt for his stuff. As usual, Daddy only needs to make two pit stops to complete his treasure hunt which took him less than half-an-hour. I know what you guys are thinking….stop comparing, ok.

Kit boy was very fascinated too and even found something for himself besides what I have got for him.

We left MINES about 6:00pm and went for our dinner before we end the day. Very fruitful but I definitely need a shoulder massage after that.

When I was just half-way reading it, I suddenly saw both, Kit boy and my name spelled out in the article. I was then so excited seeing our names appeared in the newspaper as this is the first time. Immediately I checked out who the journalist is and I was right….Ms. Shamala Velu, a nice lady that I happened to bump into on that day. I was one of the lucky parents being interviewed by her. She is a very friendly person and speaks fluent English..of course.

A JOURNEY THROUGH PREGNANCY & BEYOND

If you happened to have attended any of the workshops on women’s health and/or pregnancy related topics organized by Pitterpatter.com.my, I begged you will just like me logging in to their website on and off just to check out for their next event. I have attended not once but twice of their events and this is what I will say when asked to comment……… VERY INFORMATIVE & WELL ORGANIZED. I came to know about Pitterpatter.com.my from a friend of mine who have attended their Tea Party held at Carcosa Seri Negara last year October 2010.

At that point of time, I really prayed hard to god hoping that someone will just pop up and give me some advice.”

I think nowadays we are so lucky having the opportunity to attend all these workshops whereby talks will be given by qualified professionals sharing with us their knowledge and also experience as compared to our grandmother's or even mother's time.

KUNG FU PANDA 2: THE KABOOM OF DOOM

Last Sunday morning, our little explorer finally stepped into the cinema for the very first time to watch Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom at TGV, Jusco Cheras Selatan. Kit boy actually saw the preview of this animation movie and seems to be very keen to watch despite me telling him that we are going to watch it in a 'dark room'. So, we decided to proceed.

Initially we wanted to go for a night show on Saturday after we came back from the ParenThots event but tickets were all sold out. No, we did not pre-book the tickets on-line and that was a big mistake we made. Even Sunday's shows are quite fully booked. Luckily we still managed to get four tickets for the 11:15am show. Interesting......the seats was just the SECOND ROLL FROM THE BIG SCREEN. Maybe I will need a shoulder massage after that. So, the moral of the story is never under estimates cartoons especially when during school holidays and the most important is to PRE-BOOK YOUR SEATS ON-LINE.

Ok...back to the show. We arrived at Jusco Cheras Selatan quite early on Sunday morning, about an hour before the show starts and after queuing up for the limited edition of Kung Fu Panda TUMBO, we went to Popular bookstore to kill another half-an-hour. Daddy seems to be more excited that Kit boy and kept walking to and fro to check if we can enter the cinema. After a few rounds of checking, finally Daddy happily came back telling us is time for the show. Instead, I was a little worried.

Kit boy actually started crying the minute he stepped into the cinema and insisted to go out. I was like...OOOPS. Daddy suggested letting him to stay outside for a while since the show has not started and will try again before making any further decision. We have actually expected for this and worse come to worst, either Daddy or myself will have to miss the show.

After a mere few minutes, Kit boy seems to have warmed up and we then give it a second try. But this time, we waited until the panda came out on the big screen before bringing him in again. Surprisingly the minute he saw the main character of the animation, he willing to go in and take his seat with no more crying right up to the end of the show except for a few times when there were no fighting scenes, he will starts complaining again. (phew). At least we went through it for the first time without any waste of money.

But we will definitely come back again as for CARS 2 will be here very very soon in AUGUST 2011.

CRAFT WITH PARENTHOTS

TROPICANA CITY MALL, PETALING JAYA

Remember one of my posts about the Craft with ParenThots event on 28 May 2011? If you have not come across this, I'm afraid you have missed out the fun. But those who have gone to Tropicana City Mall last Saturday for the event or even just happened to be there, I believed that you must have enjoyed yourself very much doing various types of craft work together with your little one. And of course that includes me.

We arrived at the Main Atrium on the ground floor a few minutes before 11:00am and the queue was already pretty long. Why?.. Do we need to register before going in to the event area? No....people were actually queuing up for the goodies as there were 50 bags of goodies being given out at every hour. Wow, just look at all those orange bags complimentary by Parenthots.

However, since the Q was already so long, we decided to go in first without the goodies and will try our luck again in the next hour. There were various types of on-going crafting activities whereby both the kid and parents can put their hands together and come out with not one, but maybe a few masterpieces. There were paper crafting, creative craft with recyclables, felt, t-shirt painting, clay and etc. Despite the crowd has yet to reach the peak at that point of time but seats were already fully occupied by children who can't wait to put their hands on and starts crafting especially at Crafty-Crafted with some even patiently waiting for a seat surrounding the long table. I actually told my mom, who went with me, when we were on the way here that I wanted to give my little support to this friend of mine but now seems like we will have to come back later to do it mainly because her 'business' was too good and no time to entertain me (Just joking, friend).

We moved on to the next...clay art. While looking on, this mother actually kind enough to offer Kit boy to share the seat with her son. Yes, all seats were fully occupied too. Kit boy was then given some clay of different colours and was asked to roll it into a few balls before constructing it into something else. Kit boy was very excited as this is his first time playing with clays and he started rolling it with full confidence. Despite the fact that after a mere 15 minutes and he is still rolling on the same piece of clay with nothing coming from there when others were done with something, but to me, is already an effort from him. Maybe I should start introducing Play Doh to him after this. We then proceed to others while 婆婆 offered her help to queue for the GOODIES.

We were running out of time as little Kit boy needs to be home for his afternoon nap but how can we leave before 'adopting' this cute dinosaur from Crafty-Crafted. As I did mentioned earlier HERE how much this little fella loves dinosaur and hence, even in a standing position, he still insisted to do the dino craft. Can you see how serious he is?

Overall, I must say that this would be another successful event conducted by ParenThots. I always tried my very best not to miss out any of their events ever since I attended their ParenThots Family Day on 07 August last year. Bravo ParenThots, keep it up with more fun yet educating events.

This was actually our first time in Tropicana City Mall and while exploring the place, our explorer spotted this. Immediately, he asked for it. Of course I will never say no as I always tell my hubby that we should allow our boy to go for all this fun rides and admire how they enjoy themselves cos once they grow up, they will no longer 'qualified' for all this kiddy rides. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry diverted a little. Ok...now let's see what he found:And last but not least, this are what we brought home after a half-day outing.

DINOS ALIVE! WORLD TOUR 2010

Recently we brought Kit boy to the Pusat Sains Negara at Bukit Kiara Kuala Lumpur for the still on-going 'Dinos Alive! exhibition to see all those gigantic dinosaurs.

He was all excited when we first told him that we are going to visit his favourite stegosaurus and triceratops. Actually this little fella started to fall in love with dinosaurs only about two to three weeks ago when Mommy intentionally bought him some books and video related to these scary beasts. Why intentionally? Mainly because Mommy has already planned to go for this when first came to know about it from one of my blogger friend's post and of course all those 'pre-preparation work' is just to get him 'ready' for it.

Alright, let's come back to this interesting visits. We arrived at Pusat Sains Negara for the very first time at about noon and the weather on that day was sizzling hot. Surprisingly the crowd was not there yet despite it was a public holiday. However, Mommy still need to Q for a little while at the Ticket Counter. For information, ticket are sold at RM10.00 per adult and RM5.00 for kids above 4 years old. As for Kit boy or kids below 4 years old, will enjoy free entry.

To enter into the giants' habitat, we will have to walk pass the Freshwater Fish Aquarium under the short tunnel with all sorts of huge fishes swimming freely above us and of course Kit boy was all fascinated.

And next, we were welcomed by the host.........a 16-feet tall 'life-size' Tyrannosaurus and a 23-feet tall Apatosaurus. At that very moment with the two ever well-known species standing right in front of you, I really felt like I was back in the Jurassic era. On the other hand, I was quite worry about Kit boy but luckily he was not afraid at all instead kept imitating the roaring sound of the T-Rex.

Besides the above, at the outdoor area, there are also various kids' activities and many children were running here and there enjoying themselves up to the most including our little explorer.

We then proceed to the indoor area where there have even more species of dinosaurs being displayed with some were so weird looking. But unfortunately, Kit boy has missed out this part as he just refused to go in mainly due to the hall was actually quite dark with only minimum dim light plus the loud roaring sound of dinosaurs. Not only Kit boy, but most of the younger children too preferred to stay outside and show off their sand art skill at a kiosk that sells all sort of dinosaur related stuffs ranging from plush toys to games. Anyway, kiasu Mommy took pictures of each and every creature in the indoor section and will definitely view it together with Kit boy later.

Actually there are other side attractions or so call activities like Dino train rides, fossil digging, Dino simulator and etc. but we did not try or participate in anyone of those. Overall, it was quite an eye-opening one especially for children as I believed that this will definitely gives them a much clearer picture of what a dinosaur is instead of just reading through books and/or watching videos. We left Pusat Sains Negara and back to our home-sweet-home at about 4:00pm for a good afternoon nap.

Good news!! Happened to drop by ParenThots site this morning and came to know that ParenThots is organizing yet another interesting event...CRAFT WITH PARENTHOTS on 28 May 2011, Saturday at Tropicana City Mall Petaling Jaya, Main Atrium, Ground Floor starting from 11:00am right up to 2:00pm. All parents and kids are invited to join in various crafting activities. Yes....is all about CRAFTING.

NUTRITION MONTH MALAYSIA 2011 CARNIVAL

Today Daddy dropped us at Mid Valley Megamall for the annual Nutrition Month Malaysia 2011 Carnival with this year theme "Healthy Children, Healthier Nation - Start Young".

As previous years, there are many interesting games suitable for all age, food tasting and also free health check. But this time round, Kit boy participated in almost all the activities and received quite a number of gifts. :) And I really love to see how he enjoyed himself with those interesting games.

Besides those activities, you can also seek various information from the participating companies or exhibitors on their products or food that you or your little one is consuming. Like me, I use to buy those culture milk drink for Kit boy and sometimes do wonder if it is really good for him but after some consultation, I have got all my queries answered.

FIRST SCHOOL FIELD TRIP - SUNWAY WILDLIFE INTERACTIVE ZOO

SUNWAY WILDLIFE INTERACTIVE ZOO

I was all excited when came to know that Kit boy’s school will be organizing their first field trip for this year to Sunway WildLife Interactive Zoo just before the first term holiday starts. Without even a second thought, I confirmed our attendance by returning the reply slip together with the payment amounting to RM120.00 (for two pax) immediately to his form teacher on the next day.

Since then, I started to countdown and finally, here we come.

Woke up quite early just to get prepare and to ensure bringing all the necessary stuffs like snacks (snack will be provided but just in case), a bottle of water, an extra set of clothing for little Kit boy, umbrella, mosquito/insect repellent, Kit boy’s 臭臭 (pillow), wet tissues, small towel and etc. Actually children were asked to carry all those necessary things themselves in a light weight bag but I preferred to dump everything into my backpack instead of so many bags that might ended up I’m the only one carrying all the bags including my DSLR.

By 8:00am sharp, we said goodbye to 婆婆 and drove straight to the school hoping to get a good parking space nearby. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by teachers all in school t-shirts and there were already many students waiting at the playground together with their parents. Everyone seems to be very excited and can’t wait to enjoy the trip with their kids especially those first timer, like me. :)

Kit boy was of course very excited or maybe even more excited than some other kids as this is also his first experience boarding on to a bus.

Once everybody was seated in the bus, the Principal actually gave a very short introduction about the trip and then snacks were distributed to each and everyone including the parents.

We arrived at Sunway WildLife Interactive Zoo at about 10:15am and the weather was not good as it was raining. There were all together 4 different age groups of student, ie. Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

After waited for a short while, some teachers started distributing the entrance tickets to everybody while others will help the students to wear it on. And little Kit boy was so eager and almost can't wait to go in after Teacher Annie has put on the wrist band for him.

When everybody was ready, we kicked start our half-day tour around the zoo and we were actually led by a few dedicated staffs of Sunway WildLife Zoo throughout the whole journey.

Despite it was still raining but kids were let go freely running and chasing after those lovely rabbits. They even have a chance to feed the rabbits and this was the first time little Kit boy feeding an animal, besides 二姑姐's pet dog, Angelina. He or we had a great time.

About 1:30pm, teachers started to gather all students before we end the tour and while waiting for other groups to arrive, Mommy took the opportunity to visit one of the nearby souvenir shops. To me, a trip will never complete without bringing home a souvenir as remembrance.

Bought this for Kit boy and I believed that every time when he uses it, he will remember what he has seen or learned from his first field trip.

We then proceeded to Restoran Jumbo at Seri Kembangan for a scrumptious lunch before heading back to our home-sweet-home.

Very tiring especially handling this little explorer all by my own but we do had a great time together. Really looking forward for the next field trip in July 2011.

FIRST TERM SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Time passes really fast and without realizing it, Kit boy has already attended school for 43 days and is now into his first term school holiday which will be starting tomorrow till 20 March 2011.

Traditionally, people will always comment that kids will not learn much in kindergarten, but to me, especially nowadays; I think it is a totally different statement. They were actually being taught more than what we parents expected.

Therefore, for those working mums who do not have the time to do the teaching at home, like me, I think the best is to send them to school as for sure they will learn something by end of the year instead of a year wasted doing nothing at home except for running here and there or throwing things everywhere.

Just to re-call what has Kit boy learned or done up todate and also for record purposes. Tomorrow we will be going for his first field trip to Sunway Interative Zoo.

BAO BAO RECIPE RESTAURANT (寶寶飯店)

Ever since we stopped going to our parents-in-law's house for dinner almost one or two years ago, we have frequented a few nearby restaurants alternatively every Saturday and Sunday. Even little Kit boy is so used to it until he has his own 'preferred' table at some of these restaurants. Especially those restaurants that have fish tanks or aquarium, this little fella will always chose to sit near them. Yes, he loves fishes. Despite we have an aquarium at home, but yet he still can't take his eyes off those fishes in any restaurants.

Just recently during the Chinese New Year when we had our family dinner at Bao Bao Recipe Restaurant (寶寶飯店), I still remembered that Kit boy was making so much noise and insisted to sit at the table that was nearest to those fish tanks which was already occupied at that point of time. Daddy and I tried our very best to convince him but this little fella just refused to cooperate and continued to throw his tantrum uncontrollably until I have to carry him out to the lobby and of course, given him a good 'lesson'.

Since then, we have not patron to this restaurant until last Sunday and I actually told Daddy that if the said table is again occupied, we better move on to another place just to avoid any unnecessary embarrassment. The minute daddy off the car's engine, Kit boy actually said this to me..."...ah 妈咪, 快点进去霸位位, 我要看鱼鱼" and I was like..'huh?' but yet without a second thought, I actually walked pretty fast into the restaurant. Maybe it was still early and the restaurant was quite empty at that point of time, his wish was granted.

Can you see how excited and fascinated when he see those fishes?

And he was so happy smilling from ear to ear throughout the whole dinner.

Maybe in future, we should call to make a table reservation mainly for this priceless smile on his face. Precious!!

D IS FOR 'DUCK'

I am so happy that little Kit boy is learning more and more things in school nowadays. Almost every alternate day, he will bring home some craft or worksheets and I’m really fascinate to see what he has done and learn in school everyday. Sometimes I really can’t wait till we reached home before checking his school bag for all this excitement and will start asking him what he has done for the day even when we are on our way home. And of course, he will always be more than happy to show me, if any.

For today, he brought back a very nicely done hand puppet made out of paper bag. Just to ensure that he knows what he has learned in school, I purposely asked him what was that and he answered me loudly “Duck” and “D is for Duck” without a second thought. I am so proud of him and really hope that he will continue to progress from here.

Mommy : Oh..ok, cos you are colouring the honey pots and not the honey.

BIRTHDAY GIFTS FROM ABBOTT

Mommy received an sms from Abbott Nutrition last two days and was informed that we shall be expecting something from them. And today, Mr. Postman delivered an envelope sent by Abbott Nutrition and guess what...... we received a very nice and cute Happy Birthday Teddy Bears Height Chart from Abbott Nutrition.

Besides, they also enclosed together two sachets of GainKid EyeQ vanilla flavor formula milk.

Mommy got a Valentine's Day surprise, not from Daddy but from little Kit boy. It is a heart shape Valentine's Day card that he learned to make in school today.

The minute we stepped into the house, my darling took out the said card and gave it to me. I was so touched. Immediately Mommy gave little Kit boy a big hug and kisses and not forgetting to say Thank you, Darling. Mommy and Daddy love you too.

AQUAFAIR MALAYSIA 2010

This was actually a continuous post from here.

After we left The Star Kids Fair 2010 and came out from Hall 2, immediately we proceed straight to the ticketing counter for the AquaFair Malaysia 2010 at Hall 4. Just for information, the entrance fee was RM5.00 per adult and free entrance for both children below 12 and senior citizen. Therefore, we do not need to purchase ticket for Kit boy, little Xin Ern, 婆婆 and grandma. Oh..yes, we went there together with grandma, 叔叔 and of course little Xin Ern. This was the 3rd Malaysian International Ornamental Aquatics Exhibition and Conference after their two successful events held back in Year 2006 and Year 2008.

With the theme named "Aquarium of the World”, this 4 days event was the largest specialized ornamental fish exhibition and competition in South East Asia and majority of the fishes exhibited has participated in the competition.

Back to Kit boy, of course he was all fascinated with so many tanks of fishes surrounding the whole event hall especially most of these fishes were extremely 'huge' in size as compared to those that are selling in the shop except that there were not many 海鱼 as expected by Daddy. Mostly were Gold fish and Arowana but their aquascaping were really amazing.

At the beginning when we first entered the event hall, Kit boy refused to walk and insist to be seated in his stroller (maybe needs some time to re-charge battery after a long visits to the kids fair) but shortly after that, he was back to his usual self and was exploring from one corner to another admiring the different types of fishes.

All of us were really exhausted after visiting the two fairs but looking at how the kids, both Kit boy and little Xin Ern enjoyed themselves, worth it!

THE STAR KIDS FAIR 2010

KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE, HALL 1 & HALL 2

Recently there are so many interesting exhibitions being held at various location and just last Sunday we visited two different fairs that were held in the same building....KL Convention Centre and one of it was the very well promoted 'The Star Kids Fair 2010'.

This two days event held from 27 November to 28 November 2010 with a theme 'Fun In The City' was mainly sponsored by Maybank and some other co-sponsors. Mommy not quite too sure if this is the first Kids Fair being held here but this was the first time little Kit boy attended such interesting fair that was specially organized for toddlers up to kids aged 13 years old.

There were so many fun activities and competitions like colouring contest, storytelling competition, mascot appearances and photo shooting session, concert/choir performance by participating kids and etc.

But what most captured Kit boy's attention was the Formula 1 race car being displayed in one of the booths. Many excited parents were queuing up with their kids to take pictures of the ever popular race car and Kit boy is no exceptional with Daddy standing besides him while Mommy was the photographer. And here comes our future F1 racer :P

As usual, these were the goodies we brought home from the fair.

The backpack was given by Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd after completing their survey form and also the plush toy from a small donation.

And this 'Stories for Our Future' together with the free entrance ticket to Bukit Gambang Resort City Water Park were the gift redeemed upon presenting the completed jigsaw puzzle at the registration counter. For the first 300 visitors who have completed collecting all the five pieces of jigsaw puzzles that were published in The Star newspaper daily starting from 22 November to 26 November 2010 will be entitled to draw a gift.

Overall it was quite interesting and Mommy believed that Kit boy has enjoyed himself too at the fair. Last but not least, would like to say thank you to all the participated exhibitors for all these nice goodies.

12TH WORLD OF CHINESE BOOK FAIR

MIECC, MINES

Early this morning after breakfast, Daddy drove us to MIECC, Mines for the 12th World of Chinese Book Fair which started yesterday till 28 November 2010. The entrance fee is RM2.00 for an adult ticket and Daddy only needs to purchase two tickets, for Mommy and himself cos both Kit boy and Popo can enter for free.

Mommy started hunting for good books the minute we stepped into the hall together with Popo and Kit boy while Daddy went separately to do his own 'books-hunting'. There were so many exhibitors with some from overseas like Taiwan and China. Kit boy was very excited too to see so many books surrounding him. Mommy went from one booth to another and targeting only children's books. After a few hours of hunting, Mommy managed to grab the following books for little Kit boy.

Today, Kit boy has an appointment with Dr. Goon for a final check-up and thank god, Dr. Goon confirmed that he has fully recovered and can even go for outdoor activities like swimming.

After we left Sime Darby Medical Centre, we went straight to South City Plaza for the Big Bad Wolf sales.

We reached there at about 12:30pm and managed to grab the following for Kit boy. Wow...superb cheap with books selling as low as RM2.00 up to RM15.00. Really worth going.

SAMMY VS MCQUEEN

Little Kit boy started watching TV when he was about 6 months old when kiasu Mommy bought him his first set of educational DVDs, the Bee Smart Baby Vocabulary Builder series by Baby BumbleBee which consist of 5 Volumes. I still remember when Kit boy first explored to this 'magic box' with actions and sound, his facial expression was priceless...precious!

Many of my friends including my parents-in-law advised me not to do so (i.e, letting Kit boy to watch TV at such a young age) mainly because it is not good for a baby's eyes but to me, as long as I placed him far enough from the TV and not for too long hours, maybe half-an-hour a day, I think it should be fine. As I believed these type of educational DVDs do help babies to develop to a certain extend and true enough, very soon Kit boy started to recognize and re-act to things that he has seen on the screen before.

I was so excited over his re-action and immediately bought him his first Barney VCD titled 'More Barney Songs' but during that time, maybe he is still too young to understand, he shown no interest at all. As mentioned earlier here, this little fella started to fall in love with Barney only when he was about a year plus. And since then, his collections on Barney VCD/DVD started to grow.

Few months back, Mommy noticed that Kit boy not only enjoyed listening to the songs when watching his favourite Barney & Friends but also understands what's the story behind. Sometimes this little fella even repeats what Barney says to the kids in the show. Therefore, I think is time to move a step further and get him some Walt Disney or Warner Bros cartoons which contains interesting and meaningful stories. Can't really remember when Daddy bought him the Disney Pixar Cars but that was the first animation DVD that we played for him. Kit boy loves it very much especially Lightning McQueen and he even imitated the character by showing his tongue just like the cheeky McQueen.

Recently Mommy bought him another new DVD, 'Sammy's Adventures: The Secret Passage', thinking that Kit boy will likes it since he loves turtle so much.

At the very beginning when we first played this animation movie to him, he was all excited but when comes to the part where Sammy, the sea turtle was caught by a seagull after trying to get out from the hole where he hatched and struggled for his life, Kit boy started crying and not only once but almost every time when he saw Sammy is in trouble. Never know that this naughty fella can be so 感情丰富. And since then every time when I asked Kit boy if he wanna to watch Sammy again, he will say ..."...怕怕". Hopefully when he grows older, will understand that this is only a movie. By then, we can start our collection on Walt Disney cartoons and here are some of Mommy's favourite.

ENCYSTED HYDROCELE

Some of my friends have actually started asking me why I have not been updating my blog for almost a month AGAIN after my earlier one-and-a-half month break in August/September 2010 due to busy work load. Well, the main reason was my poor little boy was diagnosed with Encysted Hydrocele which needs to undergo a minor surgery.

Let me just recalled what had happened for the past one month. Kit boy was first diagnosed with this problem during his routine check-up when he had his Hepatitis A vaccination on 02 October 2010. According to Dr. Yek, it is just a minor surgery which takes less than 15 minutes and he also named us a few of the paediatric surgeons from various hospitals but when asked who is more experience in terms of handling this type of surgery, he then recommended Dr. Goon Hong Kooi at Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) located in Subang Jaya. Without much hesitation, Mommy and Daddy decided to go for Dr. Goon. Dr. Yek said that he will later issue us a Referral letter and once ready, his nurse will call us for collection.

We collected the said Referral letter on 08 October 2010 and immediately on the following Monday (11 October 2010), Mommy called up Dr. Goon's clinic and managed to fix our first appointment on Saturday (16 October 2010) morning. Mommy has actually planned to have the operation on the first week of November 2010 in-conjunction with the coming Deepavali holiday so that we can have a longer break to take care of Kit boy after the surgery; furthermore, 小姑姐's wedding is on 23 October 2010. However, Mommy's plan was distracted when we visited Dr. Shamsher Singh on 14 October 2010 mainly to obtain a referral letter from Poliklinik Pertama which is Daddy's company panel clinic in order for Daddy to submit the insurance claim later.

According to Dr. Shamsher Singh, Kit boy was having Hernia which is much more serious as compared to Encysted Hydrocele and we were advised not to delay anymore. Both Daddy and I were stunned and shocked after hearing what the doctor said. We were so worried till hardly slept for the whole night and immediately the next morning, we brought Kit boy to SDMC to see Dr. Goon, even a day before the appointment date.

We reached SDMC about 7:45am and waited for almost 2-3 hours for our turn to see the paediatric surgeon at about 10:30am. After just a very simple check-up, Dr. Goon confirmed that it is Encysted Hydrocele instead of Hernia. Dr. Goon said that actually both Hernia and Encysted Hydrocele are almost the same with the earlier one more serious that needs urgent operation and Dr. Goon also clearly explained to us what are the different between the two. Despite it is not as serious as described by Dr. Shamsher Singh, but it is also good not to delay and therefore, we decided to fix the appointment for surgery on 21 October 2010, the following Thursday at 10:30am.

On 21 October 2010, we reached SDMC about 8:00am and proceed straight to the Day-care Surgery division. After registration, we were asked to wait for our boy's name to be called. About 8:30am, Kit boy was asked to go in and since only one parent is allowed to be with him, Daddy went in together with Kit boy while Mommy waited patiently outside. The surgery started at about 9:00am. Yes, almost one-and-a-half hour earlier than the scheduled time and the whole process took less than half-an-hour. About 9:45am, Dr. Goon came out and told us that everything went smoothly and by another hour, our boy shall gained consciousness.

We left SDMC about 3:00pm after settling the bill and also submission of all the necessary documentation for insurance claims. Overall, Kit boy was very brave and well behaved according to Daddy and only cried a little after wake up due to the needle that was plastered onto his left hand as compared to other toddlers who kept crying. My little Kit boy, Mommy and Daddy is proud of you.

Medicine prescribed by Dr. Goon

On 30 October 2010, we went back to SDMC to remove the plaster and as at today, Kit boy seems to be fully recovered and was as active as before. However, we still need to go for another final check-up this coming Saturday.

婆婆 60TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

We actually celebrated 婆婆's 60th birthday on 02 October 2010 (Saturday) by just having a simple dinner at Restoran SK Seafood located in Seri Kembangan as recommended by Daddy for the very first time. Overall, the food served here were quite tasty and also at a reasonable price.

Can anyone of you guess which is Kit boy's favourite dish?

After all the yummylicious food, as usual, we went to Jusco Cheras Selatan for some window shopping and also kiddie rides for Kit boy before going home for our cake cutting ceremony.

HEPATITIS A VACCINATION

(2 YEARS, 6 MONTHS AND 1 WEEK OLD)

Kit boy is due for his second dose of Hepatitis A jab today and as usual Mommy drove out to the clinic as early as 8:00am to register in order to avoid the long queue after nine. But surprisingly, the crowd was not there this morning like what normally does. We were the third on the list and it was pretty fast.

After the routine check-up, the jab was given by Dr. Yek and as usual, Kit boy cried a little just for a very short while and back to his usual self again. We then went for Kit boy's weekly Musikgarten class at 10:00am before going for our breakfast together with grandma and also little Xin Ern.

With regards to Kit boy growth, his height was measured at 95cm as at today which is slightly above average according to Dr. Yek but his weight is still remained at 13kg (average).

AEON LANTERN PARADE 2010

Another backdated post from me. During the recent moon cake festival, we did participated in a lantern parade organized by AEON Cheras Selatan Shopping Centre which was held on 18 September 2010 (Saturday). This would be the second time we took part in a lantern parade. As compared to last year, the number of participants has increased tremendously. This year AEON has also invited the MP of Serdang, Y.B. Teo Nie Ching for the opening ceremony and prize presentation to the winners of the most creative lantern made by the students from various schools. Besides, there were also dragon dance.

The parade kicked start at about 8:45pm but because we needed to attend a friend's baby full-moon party which was coincidently held on the same day, we just took some photos and left without completing the 'journey'. Kit boy was of course very fascinated with all those colourful lanterns being lit up in the dark together with so many other kids happily enjoying themselves. For your information, each and every participant were given a lantern for free upon registration and we have got four for ourselves. However, Mommy thinks that Kit boy is a little too young to handle this type of lantern and therefore, Mommy has brought our own battery-operated lantern for him.

Have not been updating my precious blog for almost one-and-a-half month since my last post on grandma's birthday dated 11 August 2010 and I believed that many of my blogger friends might be wondering where I have gone to. Well... I'm always around but solely due to work that I hardly have the time to do what I actually wanted to do. Anyway, finally everything is over and shall be back to the norm.

After such a long break, today, I would like to update some major events that happened during this one-and-a-half month and will kicked start with Kit boy's first visits to the ZOO.

On the first day of Hari Raya Puasa (10 September 2010, Friday), we actually visited Zoo Negara together with grandma, 叔叔, 婶婶, little Xin Ern and of course 婆婆. But because of 叔叔 has got to work for half a day despite it was a public holiday, we went there quite late in the afternoon. We reached Zoo Negara at about 4:15pm when other visitors seem to be leaving the place already, ok….at least we avoided the crowd. :P

To me, Zoo Negara is still the same with not much changes despite the fact that maybe nowadays there have more kiosks or booth selling souvenirs as compared to ten or twenty years ago. But for the two little fellas (Kit boy and little Xin Ern), of course it will be something new for them. Both of them were quite excited seeing so many animals in real especially Kit boy when he saw those colourful trams ferrying visitors around the zoo. He kept asking for a ride every time one passes us and of course we did ride on one just for him to explore.

We left Zoo Negara at about 5:30pm and went over to Mahkota Cheras for our dinner together before calling off for the day.

GRANDMA'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

11 AUGUST 2010, WEDNESDAY

Yesterday was grandma's birthday but since all of us are working, as usual, we just had a simple cake cutting ceremony at 爷爷家. We were there at about 9:05pm and waited awhile before 姑妈 arrived with the birthday cake.

Kit boy was all fascinated when he saw Luke Kok 表哥 came together with 姑妈 bringing in the birthday cake. Kit boy was so happy running here and there and the minute 姑妈 took out the cake, he immediately climbed and seated at the dining table in front of the cake as if we are celebrating his birthday. He even helped 姑妈 to put the candles on the cake and of course under tight supervision. ;P

I sometimes do wonder why kids love birthday cakes so much especially when comes to blowing out the candles. Kit boy was so impatient and already started blowing the candles even before we finished singing the birthday song till grandma got to really hold him tight. The minute we said... "BLOW", this little fella really went all out to blow and of course together with grandma.

We just lingered a little while more before going home for a good night sleep.

胎毛笔

Finally Mommy received the 胎毛笔 from Uncle YS after waited for 2 years, 2 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. Kit boy had his first hair cut on 18 May 2008, just a day before Kit boy turns two months old and since then, Mommy started to source for companies that manufacture 胎毛笔. With the help from 小姑姐, we found 北京京华毛笔厂 and immediately Mommy emailed the particulars of this company which located in Beijing, China to Mommy's stepbrother, Uncle YS who is working in Beijing at that point of time.

Shortly after that, Mommy received a good news from Uncle YS that actually this company is situated quite near to his working place and he has got no problem to get it done for me. Mommy was so happy smiling from ear to ear and really can't wait to hand over those precious hair of little Kit boy to him during his next trip back to Malaysia.

I would like to say that 胎毛笔 is not that popular in Malaysia as compared to China and Taiwan. Therefore, not many companies are doing this in Malaysia and the only company that Mommy came across is the one that located in Johor.

There are actually many different types and designs of 毛笔 but the one that Uncle YS selected for us is very unique with Kit boy's name and date of birth being engraved on it. Besides, it also came together with a laminated Certificate.

We met up with Uncle YS last Saturday and collected the 胎毛笔 from him. Uncle YS refused to tell Mommy how much is the 胎毛笔 and insisted to give it to Kit boy as a gift. So, I actually have got no idea how much is a custom made 胎毛笔 cost but is definitely not cheap despite it is in RMB.

Note to Uncle YS: Thank you very much, not only for the 胎毛笔 but also for all your effort to get it done. This would be Kit boy's most valuable gift.

PARENTHOTS FAMILY DAY 2010

PADANG ASTAKA, LORONG UTARA KECIL, PETALING JAYA

For the first time, we attended the annual family event organized by ParenThots of The Star. The event started from as early as 9:00am right up to noon with many activities and games organized by the various stalls' owners who have volunteered to give up their valuable time for this event. Just to name a few of the games, there were ivory toss, ringaling, velcro stick, ball toss, tee off, tin ball, buzzer challenge and etc. Besides these interesting games that were specially arrange for children, there were other fun stuff too like balloon sculpture, face painting and kids can also participate in cupcake decoration and crafty work at the respective stall.

We reached there at about 9:10am and because Mommy was one of the first 100 early birds who registered for this event, Mommy received a goody bag upon registration at the allocated counter. Kit boy was very excited seeing so many kids running here and there. He even wanted to participate in some of the games too. Of course Mommy was more than happy to bring this little explorer to take part in almost every game from one stall to another and won himself some prizes too.

Mommy was most excited to be able to meet up with one of Mommy's blogger friends, Merryn and also Ethan boy for the very first time. This would be the second year that Merryn's Crafty-Crafted Studio participated in ParenThots Family Day. Merryn's craft works are really creative and all seats at her booth were fully occupied by children learning how to do some of the craft work as demonstrated by this young mommy together with their parents. Luckily Kit boy too has a chance to participate despite of the crowd and brought home a lovely Mr. Sunshine. :D

KOREAN GINSENG WINTER MELON

Saw this so called Korean Ginseng Winter Melon being sold at one of the fruit stalls in the morning market which was strongly recommended by the seller. Mommy decided to give it a try despite it was quite expensive selling at RM8.00 per small fruit.

Let me just illustrate a little about this fruit. As you can see from the picture, it is oval shape instead of round and the size was actually very much smaller than our usual winter melon. To me, it tasted the same despite that the fruit seller kept saying that it has the taste of ginseng which I don't think so; and the texture is rather hard as compared to the normal fruit.

Nothing special about it but if you happened to see one for the very first time, just like me, is always no harm trying something new.

FAVOURITE KIDDIE RIDES

What are kiddie rides? As stated in Wikipedia, kiddie rides are those coin-operated rides meant for small children which commonly appear in amusement parks, shopping malls, grocery shops and in some hotels too. When a coin or tokens which are now quite widely used is inserted into the coin-slot, it will entertains the rider with motion, depending on the type of kiddie ride. There are many types of kiddie rides: track rides, carousel rides, teeter totter rides, swing rides and the two most common types that we found here are the character and also base rides. These kiddie rides are normally have sounds, music and some even feature flashing lights.

And all kids love kiddie rides. Kit boy is no exceptional. Mommy still remembers that Kit boy was only about a year plus when we first put him on a kiddie ride, this little fella was so scare and clung on to me just like a koala bear. Only after a few attempts and kept telling him that there is nothing to be afraid off, he then allowed us to put him on the ride with one main condition.....it must not moved. And that was those days. Nowadays if he happens to spot any of these kiddie rides, I tell you, he will never let go, at least one ride. Mommy really can't remember when Kit boy started to have the courage to ride on them and eventually fall in love with it, but it should be middle of last year.

Even though he loves all kiddie rides, but definitely there are a few of his favourite whereby he will automatically asked for it during almost every weekends and we have never say no to his request. Reason being this is only a weekly affair and sooner or later when he grows up, he will no longer interested in all these kiddie rides. So, our 'philosophy' is to allow him to enjoy as much as he can during childhood.

CRAYOLA WASHABLE FINGERPAINTS

Normally during weekends, we will relax at parent-in-law's house after having breakfast together and will stay put till late afternoon before going back home. And most of the time both Daddy and also little Kit boy will have their afternoon nap there too. But recently Kit boy seems to be quite cranky when we are at grandma's house during weekends maybe because he was already there for the past five days from Monday till Friday and that's why he preferred to be at home during our off days.

So nowadays during weekends and also public holidays, we will have got more time staying at home and Mommy thinks that this would be an opportunity to start introducing more craft activities to Kit boy especially when we hardly find time to do it on weekdays.

And we actually had a very good start on last Sunday morning playing with colours. Mommy bought this Crayola Washable Fingerpaints from Toys'R'Us using the gift vouchers that were redeemed from the accumulated points. It is very user friendly, no messiness, non toxic, is easy to wash-off and most important, able to keep our boy occupied. He was very excited maybe because this time round Mommy allowed him to do it all by his own while Mommy just sit and watch. Sometimes it is also good to allow our kids to explore certain things all by themselves instead of always under tight supervision and you will never know that the end results could be beyond your expectation cos kids are born to be creative.

THE WORLD GOLDEN CHEF COMPETITION AND EXPO 2010

MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION AND CONVENTION CENTRE

Today Daddy drove us to the Mines Exhibition Centre for The World Golden Chef Competition and Expo 2010 whereby over 55 teams from 20 countries around the world will gather here to battle for the World Golden Chef title during this three days event which will be held from 30 July 2010 to 01 August 2010.

We arrived at the Mines about 3:30pm and the minute we stepped into the competition hall (admission free), we already started to salivate over those yummylicious dishes that were displayed on the table by the respective teams for the competition. Normally Mommy is the one who snap pictures but this time round, Daddy was so excited and took over Mommy's role as the photographer, so all the following 'professional shots' were taken by Daddy except for one or two occasions.

Apart from the chefs contesting their culinary skills, there is also an exhibition with 50-100 Chinese restaurants showcasting their specially prepared food and beverages. And there are food sampling too.

We left the Mines Exhibition Centre at about 6:20pm and went for our dinner at the newly opened Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh outlet at Taman Connaught before going back to our home-sweet-home.

HEALTHY MUM, HEALTHY CHILD FORUM

SWAN CONVENTION CENTRE, SUNWAY MEDICAL CENTRE

Mommy came across this Healthy Mum, Healthy Child Forum in the July's issue of Parenthood magazine who is also one of the main organizer for this forum besides Friso Mum Gold by Dutch Lady. Without a second thought, Mommy called Ms. Ho of Parenthood the next working day to register for this forum and made a payment of RM20.00 on the following day. I'm sure some of you might be guessing if I'm pregnant because this forum was actually targeting those expecting mommies but I can assure you that at this point of time, the answer is no; instead it was mainly due to my cousin sister who happens to be one of the speaker in the forum and I'm there to support her.

There were altogether 4 speakers giving talks on different topics within the 5 hours session starting from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Mommy arrived at the seminar hall quite early at about 12:20pm and proceeds straight to the registration counter. For those who have got no idea where this Swan Convention Centre is, it is actually located inside the Sunway Medical Centre at the 4th Floor.

The forum kicked start with the first speaker, Datin Farah DiBa Khan. She is the Chief Dietician & Head of Lifestyle Modification Centre in Prince Court Medical Centre and her topic for the day was on nutrition guidelines titled "From Diapers to the First Year of Life". Her topic covers a mother's diet during lactation, the various steps of baby food, ways of introducing solid and what complementary food is.

The second speaker was Dr. Wong Pak Seng, Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist talking on "Journey into Motherhood". After his session, I believed that majority of the attendees would have a very clear picture of what motherhood is and what to expect.

We then adjourned for a mere 35 minutes high tea break at the foyer before continued with the next topic on newborn babies presented by Dr. Eric Lee Kim Hor, a Consultant Paediatrician, titled "A Picture Paints a Thousand Words". From his slides, we could see the picture of babies with all different types of birthmarks, allergies signs and also symptoms of various infections that mommies should be aware off.

And last but not least, the final topic was on Pregnancy Nutrition presented by Ms. Loo Mei Fong, a Nutritionist. In her talk, I believed she has answered many expecting mommies queries in terms of what to eat, how much to consume and also the most important, what to avoid during pregnancy that might cause harm to the little ones.

After all the experienced speakers have given their valuable advice, the next in the agenda was the lucky draw session. There were a total of 30 attractive lucky draw prizes to be won by the participants but unfortunately, Mommy was not one of them for this time round. However, I would like to congratulate those who have returned home with the great prizes. Before end of the event, we were asked to complete a copy of the survey form in order for us to collect the goody bag from the registration counter.

Personally, I think that overall the forum was quite successful and really have learned a lot from these speakers. Meanwhile, I also have a great time meeting up and chatting with my 表妹. Therefore, would like to thank both Parenthood and Friso Mum Gold by Dutch Lady for organizing such a meaningful public forum. Definitely will never hesitate to attend again especially with the following goodies. And also not forgetting to thank my lovely hubby for being my 'chauffeur'.

Daddy came to pick up Mommy at about 6:10pm and we then proceed for our dinner at Restoran Cerana in Cheras. The ambience of this restaurant was quite unique as claimed to be the biggest floating restaurant in town that set in a captivating forest ambience with soothing sounds of waterfalls. Kit boy was very excited seeing those mini size waterfalls and kept running here and there. In terms of food, they do served Malay, Chinese and also Thai style seafood dishes but we only ordered a grilled sting ray, tomyam seafood, fried sotong, a steamed fish and a plate of sizzling tauhu. To rate the food, I will give it a 2 star. No picture was taken because Mommy's camera was out of battery at that point of time.

After dinner, we continued with shopping at Carrefour and also Jusco before going back to our home-sweet-home.

28TH MONTH PROGRESS REPORT

Weight
At 12.50kg - measurement was taken during Kit boy's recent visit to Dr. Yek on 16 July 2010 (last Friday) when he was having high fever due to virus infection.

Height
Haven’t measured yet, but he seems to be able to reach more things now. However, last measurement taken was around 92cm.

Teeth
Still have not got the courage to put my finger in his mouth to do the counting but there are at least 16-18 and more to come cause he still salivating a lot.

Motor Skills

Definitely with more jumping nowadays especially on the sofa and bed.
Able to 'drive' his MyDear push-car at home pretty fast with all the 'F1 drivers cornering skill' but when comes to his tricycle, he yet to know how to cycle despite his legs are long enough to reach the pedals but still pushing it to move.
Walking up and down the stairs quite steadily all by his own (however, 'kiasi' mommy still insisted someone to be there with him either he is going up or coming down from the stairs, just in case).

Communication & Social Skills
Still not many words that he can pronounced which Mommy thinks that is a little bit slow for his age but Daddy always advised to give him sometime to improve cause every toddler progress differently. Here are some of the words that he has mastered and loves to say.

Memory skill has definitely improved as he able to look for those hidden pictures when asked.
Always took the initiative to mix around with other kids, either boys or girls and never shy away from crowds.
Loves to imitate what other kids do and also what we, adults say.

Others
Since he started attending classes at MusikGarten approximately three months ago, he is now able to follow most of the instructions given by teacher during the class using various types of musical instruments and just to name a few, there are the finger cymbals, triangles, wooden frog drum (if I have got the name correctly), finger castanets, two-tone wood sounder, rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums, resonator bars (this is one of Kit boy's favourite) and etc.

Food
Almost everything that we eat except for spicy food. However, still taking porridge twice a day for lunch and dinner besides 4 times milk. Always preferred veggies more than meat especially cauliflowers, green beans and broccoli, even ladies finger. For fruits, he loves gold kiwi.

FLORIA 2010

Yesterday Daddy decided to visit the Putrajaya Flower & Garden Festival 2010 or better known as FLORIA 2010 which was held at the Waterfront, Precinct 2 in Putrajaya for the third time after succeeded in Year 2007 and Year 2009. Themed “Tropical Splendour”, FLORIA 2010 showcased the biggest collection of Heliconias in full bloom in an outdoor theme garden display from 10 July to 18 July 2010 (Admission Free).

We arrived at Precinct 2, Putrajaya about 2:00pm together with 叔叔, grandma and of course, little Xin Ern but because it was raining quite heavily at that point of time, we actually waited in the car for a mere 15 minutes before walking in to the event area.

Mommy took a few 'close-up' shots of Kit boy while waiting for the rain to stop.

The minute we stepped into the 'garden', all of us were so excited seeing those colourful flowers and now I will just let the photos to do the talking.

1. I met my lovely hubby during one of the Chinese New Year at my cousin's house when he was there together with a group of colleagues. My cousin brother then introduced me to him and we even went out for movies...in group and our relationship grew from there. For your information, he is my first love and we were together for almost 10 years before decided to tie the knot.

2. I had a miscarriage in Year 2007 during the first semester, approximately one-and-a half year before I gave birth to my little boy and that's making Kit boy more precious to me.

3. I have been working as a confidential secretary for the past 17 years in altogether 4 companies with the longest service in the current one; coming to 7 years serving my current boss.

4. I love learning and doing new things. Before I gave birth to my boy, I used to sign up for various courses/classes every year from learning Japanese language to ballroom dancing and even nail art. But hardly have the time to do all this now except for attending parenting talks or seminars and kids events.

5. I also love baking especially cakes and I think my best 'masterpiece' would be banana cake and cheese cake because this are the only two that my hubby will eat :P, others will all be back to my own tummy.

6. I used to have a pen-pal from Africa but unfortunately after 2-3 years of communicating with him via letters (during my secondary school time, still no email yet), he decided to come over to Malaysia and to settle down with me...OMG! What does he mean? And of course the minute I finished reading that particular letter from him, I decided to STOP HAVING MALE PEN PAL ANYMORE.

7. Most of my hobbies are related to collection besides the main one...travelling. I do collect stamps especially First Day Covers, stickers (last time, now no more..maybe should start again for my boy) , key chains, fridge magnets and etc...and my house is actually full of everything now.

ENFAMAMA CLUB - 2ND REDEMPTION

On 22 June 2010, Mommy sent in some Enfagrow bar codes and tin foils to Mead Johnson EnfaMama Club for redemption of their DK Animal Sticker Book, which is one of the new items published in the Redemption Catalogue 2010. This is the second redemption that Mommy has made so far after the first redemption made in last December.

And exactly after two weeks of submission, Mommy received it from Mr. Postman yesterday.

Since Kit boy is quite familiar with the human features, I think this book is just nice for me to show him the different type of animals' features.

NEW CORNER

Mommy realized that Kit boy has stopped playing with some of his old toys especially those that are meant for babies. My boy has grown up and is now a toddler. He is more interested in cars, blocks, puzzles, balls and others that kids play. Furthermore, with those new toys and books continuously adding in has actually caused my living room to look very very unorganized due to space constraint. Therefore, Mommy thinks that is time to do some house-keeping and also 'upgrading' work for his little corner.

Mommy really took some time to, firstly clean and box up all those toys and books that are no longer suitable for Kit boy, then sourced and purchased new storing shelves that fit the allocated space in our living room, lastly, cleaning and arranging all the 'currently in-use' toys and books on to the shelves. And here is how it looks like after the number of hours spent on the 'upgrading' work.

At first, Kit boy was not quite used to his new corner mainly because he couldn't find his toys as Mommy has placed it neatly in the shelf instead of spreading all over on the table previously. But after a short while, he seems to like it very much. Phew...at least worth the effort.

1 UTAMA, GROUND FLOOR, HIGHSTREET

Came to know about this interesting event from one of my colleagues and also got further information on the programs from this ever active Mommy. As Daddy is now in Bandung, Indonesia attending a conference and will be back only this afternoon, Mommy will have to bring Kit boy to join this event without him.

After having our breakfast at Section 17, PJ, we then proceed straight to 1 Utama and arrived at about 10:05am. When going to all these major and 'ever crowded' shopping malls, Mommy always planned to go as early as possible mainly to avoid those traffic jam and also the earlier the easier to get a parking space.

Before going in to the event area, Mommy rented a kiddie cabby for Kit boy in order to keep him occupied especially when Daddy is not here to chase after him. Upon registration, we were given an activity card which will be stamped after completing each and every one of those activities organized for the kids. We started off with the first activity in the list which is Bowling by Numbers. Kit boy was asked to choose a number card and then to bowl at the correct lane.

We got our activity card stamped and moved on to the next one which is Music Matcher, a test on musical recognition. Kit boy was asked to listen and select the correct musical instrument by pressing on the giant buttons.

The next activity was Tumbling Tower. Can you see how obvious the two 哥哥 (Abbott staffs) is helping Kit boy to pass this test by holding on to the "Tower" so that it will not tumble down while Kit boy pulls out the brick?

After the Tumbling Tower, we went on for the third challenge, which is the Colour Maker whereby Kit boy is supposed to match some colors and to come out with a new one in an experiment of color recognition plus creativity.

We then moved on to the Memory Maze. He loves this very much and was going in and out of the maze for so many times.

And last but not least, Mommy will have to sit in for their nutrition briefing at the Research Centre to get the final stamp before proceeding to the photography session.

Kit boy got his ever first gold medal for completing and passing through all the challenges despite some were with great helps from the kind Abbott staffs.

We left the Abbott Eye Q-lympix event area at about 11:15am, just in time for us to catch up with Elmo and Cookie Monster appearance at 11:30am. But then upon reaching the 'When Elmo Grows Up' live show ticket promotion booth, Kit boy was so reluctant to go in and started shaking his head when Mommy asked if he wanted to meet up with Elmo..(slapped head). So ended up we left the area even before the appearance of these characters. However, Mommy still managed to fill up a Lucky Draw contest form for free entrance tickets to their coming live show in September 2010. For your information, Elmo and friends will be here at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil for a live show from 03 September 2010 to 05 September 2010 and for those die-hard fans of Sesame Street, tickets are now on sale.

Besides these two major events running in 1 Utama New Wing, there were also others on-going road shows and one of them that attracts my boy's attention very much was the mini football field for kids by Digi on their current promotion inconjunction with World Cup 2010.

Looking at how he enjoyed himself with those footballs, Mommy really wished that we could stayed a little bit longer but unfortunately we can't mainly due to Daddy's flight will be touching down at about 12:00pm and we need to be back home before 2:00pm, failing which, poor Daddy will have to stand under the hot sun.

We had our lunch at Restoran Pao xiang Bah Kut Teh and left 1 Utama after we have returned the Kiddie cabby to the service counter.

T-SHIRT FROM MEAD JOHNSON

Still remember in one of my earlier posts that I briefly mentioned about the tied-up promotion held by MamyPoko and Mead Johnson at selected Jusco outlet? On the next day, I actually have called up Mead Johnson, but not pertaining to the free gift that I did not get it due to whatever reasons given by the Jusco Customer Services staff, instead I was just wanted to check my EnfaMama Club points balance in order for me to do redemption.

However, during the conversation with one of their friendly Customer Services staffs, I did mentioned about the incident before I hanged up and after that, I have totally forgotten about it until yesterday when I received a kid's t-shirt from Mead Johnson. I was so surprised.

In their letter, they even apologized for what had happened. Maybe this is what we called.... "Good customer relationship".

Despite the fact that on-line businesses are growing very rapidly in the internet market around the world for many years but I have never tried buying anything from these on-line stores due to whatever reasons until I gave birth to my little boy. I started browsing through certain on-line sites selling baby products that are strongly recommended by my friends and I happened to make my first order somewhere last year. Since then, I love to go for on-line shopping which actually save a lot of my precious time and slowly move on from buying baby stuffs to books and even dresses for myself. However, being a ‘kiasi’ mummy, I still preferred to buy from those trustworthy on-line stores with good testimonial from their customers and one of them would be Irenelim Fashion which I will never hesitate to place my order at any point of time.

I have been telling Daddy that Mead Johnson has came out with another new range of free gifts under the theme Discover & Learn with every purchased of either Enfagrow or Enfakids and since our stock is also running low, we decided to do some replenishment today.

I love freebies. I think most of you would agree with me too that it is always nice to have something extra at no additional cost (which means FREE) when you are buying something.

After Kit boy had his afternoon nap, we headed straight to the usual Chinese Medical shop whereby we used to replenish Kit boy's milk powder and grabbed six packs of the Enfagrow 1.3kg (Vanilla) at a promotional price of RM65.50 per pack. Actually it was clearly stated on the shelf that it is limited to 3 packs per family but because we are their 'old' customer, they allowed us to buy six packs at the same price.

And now we have collected all the six sets which consists of the Animal Kingdom, Under Water, In The Garden, Up In The Sky, Around The World and Circus And Theme Parks. Inside each and every of these book sets there is a set of eye gadgets, the X-ray Eye, Giant Eye and Power Eye together with a 18-pages of full colored booklet based on the title of the book. Kids are required to make use of these eye gadgets when going through the said booklet. Quite interesting I must say.

Mommy actually has bought another tin of Enfagrow from Jusco Cheras Selatan later in the evening and got a MamyPoko Jang (Chicky) plush toy for free. Mead Johnson together with MamyPoko is running a tie-up promotion which ends today only at selected Jusco whereby with every purchased of Enfagrow or Enfakids together with any Mamypoko products will entitled to a free Poko Jang plush toy (from MamyPoko) and either a kids t-shirt or a hook towel (from Mead Johnson).

Unfortunately, Mommy only got the plush toy without the hook towel neither the t-shirt mainly due to the wrong information given by the Customers Service at the redemption counter. Mommy has actually went over to the counter to check if those freebies are still available since today is the last day of the promotion before purchasing and the answer given was YES. But during redemption, I was then told that they only have the plush toys and claimed that Jusco actually did not receive any free gifts from Mead Johnson for this tie-up promotion. I was quite mad at that point of time, not because of the wrong information given (actually with or without the freebies, I still have to stock up my boy's diaper, maybe just without the tin of Enfagrow) but was mainly because of the poor attitude of the said staff who I'm dealing with.

However, I just accept what they have for me and left in a hurry for our dinner to celebrate Fathers' Day.

KORDEL'S KID'S VITAMIN C 250MG

Mommy met an 'old' friend during lunch time a few days ago and chitchatted for a mere 30 minutes on almost everything from ex-collegues to family matters. When we were talking about our kids' immune system, she recommended this Kordel's Vitamin C for kids to me.

And today, Mommy went to buy a bottle of this Kordel's Kid's Vitamin C 250mg + Bioflavonoids from Guardian after lunch to give it a try; hopefully it will helps to improve Kit boy's immune system and pay less visits to Dr. Yek.

MALAYSIA INT' EXHIBITION & CONVENTION CENTRE (MIECC)

We visited this Malaysia International Book Fair, Read Malaysia 2010 for the very first time at MIECC despite it was held annually. Many booths were set up during this 10 days event selling various types of reading materials with some at very good price.

We reached MIECC about 4:00pm and after a mere 3 hours, Mommy managed to 'hunt' and grabbed the following books for little Kit boy.

Recently Kit boy is very eager to see his own photographs taken during some of our outings especially during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at Putrajaya and kept asking us to switch on our laptop for him.

Mommy took this opportunity to tell him that all pictures taken can always be viewed from the computer and ask him to pose for Mommy as and when Mommy wanted to take pictures of him or at least stand-still and don't run away from the camera.

And Mommy's 'mission' accomplished. :)

Nowadays when Mommy ask him if he wants to take any pictures even at home, he will nod his head and stand-still if not posing; depending on his 'mood' at that point of time.

KL TOWER

From the title of this post, I believed that most of you might be thinking that we have gone to KL Tower. No. Is just that our boy has 'built' the highest 'tower' in his record .

How?

Well, according to 爷爷, Kit boy was actually sitting on the floor waiting for his Daddy to pick him up and 爷爷 was with him in the living room. But then out of a sudden, this little fella stood up and started turning rounds. All this while he loves to do that despite having us keep telling him 'NO' but this was the first time that he lost his balance and felt right in front of the altars. Immediately, 爷爷 asked 小姑姐 to send them to the nearest clinic (cos Dr. Yek's clinic is not open on Tuesday).

I still don't notice it when they came back until Daddy asked Kit boy to show me something and immediately, I knew something is not right. Really got a shock to see his new 'building'. But then this little fella was again climbing up and down just like nothing has happened. (slap forehead).

No medicine was given to Kit boy despite the doctor has prescribed the following syrup mainly because it contains Analgesic which is a form of painkiller as Mommy strongly against toddler taking any form of painkillers unless really necessary even though it is suitable for children and Daddy also totally agreed with me.

KUANTAN TRIP - DAY 3 (LAST DAY)

Finally we have a good night sleep yesterday, not because of the door has been repaired but maybe due to majority of the guest has already checked-out on Sunday.

Mommy did not purchase any breakfast voucher for this morning and therefore, we will have to eat out. Daddy insisted to try their local nasi dagang and after checking with the friendly and helpful Front Officer, we went to Warong Ceri Beserah as recommended which is located further down after Pak Su Seafood Restaurant Sdn. Bhd.

We said bye-bye to Swiss-Garden Resort & Spa Kuantan after checking-out at about 12:10pm and made a quick stop at one of those shops selling the ever famous Kuantan salted fish by the name 'Pusat Ikan Masin Kuantan' located nearby the resort.

Besides the salted fish, we also bought some prawn crackers, fish snacks and huge packets of Honey Roasted Cuttlefish for our colleagues.

We actually planned to visit the temple located at Sungai Lembing but unable to find the place even after trying for a few rounds, furthermore, time was catching up and we decided to start our long journey back to KL.

As earlier planned by Daddy, we had our early dinner at BBQ Bukit Tinggi Restaurant. This was the second time we patron in this restaurant but because Mommy was pregnant with little Kit boy during the first visit, Mommy has actually missed out two of their signature dishes. Lovely Daddy said he will order again these special dishes that Mommy had missed out previously and it really yummylicious especially the lamb. Thanks dear Daddy and I really appreciate it.

KUANTAN TRIP - DAY 2

Despite yesterday was very very tired, but all three of us were unable to sleep well mainly because of the disturbing noise caused by the door to the entrance from the lift lobby which is less than 10 steps away from our room. The said door were 'banging' loudly each and every time when there is someone walking in or out from the lift lobby throughout the whole night and that was really annoying. Due to this, we woke up very early this morning at about 7:15am and after Kit boy has woke up from his beautiful dreamland, we went down to The Garden Terrance located at the Ground Floor for our buffet breakfast.

I would say that there are not much choices in terms of food but the ambience is quite relaxing with the nice pool view. However, we still enjoyed our breakfast, especially our little Kit boy who walloped almost the whole bowl of cornflakes.

Myself, I had a bit of everything but what Daddy likes the most was their Egg Station. I tried their half-boiled egg, wow ichiban, while Daddy had two 'mata kerbau' which were very well done too.

After breakfast, both Daddy and Kit boy jumped straight into the swimming pool, I mean the baby pool and had so much fun. Kit boy even met some new friends at the pool and were playing beach ball together.

Even though Kit boy has been 'swimming' for a mere 2 hours but yet is still so difficult to get him out from the pool. Luckily all the other kids (his new friends) were also leaving the pool, by then only we managed to persuade this little fella to get out from there...phew!

Is about lunch time and once again Daddy wanted to try his luck to see if he could find some good food from the town but then most of the shops were closed on Sunday. So we ended up at one of the Chinese coffee shop and just simply had some noodles.

From there we then proceed to our first tour destination....The Turtle Sanctuary and Information Center located at Cherating and after driving for an hour, we finally arrived to meet up with Mr. Turtle.

Despite this should be one of the tourism destinations but it was not very well promoted. First of all, there isn't any road signs to give direction along the way and therefore, I must say that it is pretty hard for those first timer, like us, to find the place. Secondly, there aren't any activities or programmes being carried out for the visitors. At least there should be someone giving us briefing while touring the sanctuary, but unfortunately there isn't any. And last but not least, I personally think that they should have booth selling more turtle related souvenir items to the tourist. Mommy actually thought of buying a plush turtle for Kit boy to remind him of this trip but unfortunately, there isn't any again. Therefore, we were only there for less than 10 minutes. What a disappointment.

We went back to the hotel and get ourselves ready for the beach. Kit boy was very excited when Daddy said that we are going to the beach instead of driving to no where. Kit boy happily grabbed all his sand-playing tools and headed to the beach. This was the first time Kit boy explored to sand and both Mommy and 婆婆 were actually very worried that the sand might gets into his eyes and therefore, we kept reminding this little fella not to rub his eyes with his fingers that full of sand. We really had a great time building up not sand castle but sand crocodiles and aeroplanes.

As at today, I dare to say that Kit boy has got very good PR skill in terms of making friends :) Wherever he goes, as long as he sees kids, either boy or girl, he will always be the first one to address them 'gor gor' or 'jie jie' and will then continue following and talking to them, despite the fact that even Mommy has got no idea what he's talking about but then Mommy is very happy that he has the initiative to make friends. Sometimes Mommy noticed that little Kit boy really loves to have a companion to play with.

After some 'professional' photos shooting at the beach, Daddy decided bringing Kit boy to the pool again for the final round before we check-out the next morning but this time, Mommy was the one who accompanied Kit boy in the pool cos Daddy too wanted to 'experience' the swimming pool (adult). Mommy met a colleague who is also utilizing the staffs' vacation benefits to have a short break. While Mommy was chitchating with the colleague, suddenly 婆婆 shouted and when Mommy turned over, poor little Kit boy was already under the water. Immediately Mommy carried him out from the water and saw him giggling while wiping his face. He doesn't seems to be a bit of afraid after falling into the water and yet continue enjoying himself and chasing after other kids. After Daddy had enough of swimming, we then returned to our room to have a relaxing hot shower before going out for our dinner.

Again we had our dinner at Pak Su Seafood Restaurant Sdn. Bhd. but this time Kit boy was very well behaved as compared to the first night. He obediently seated at the table most of the time and finished his glass of 'double' orange juice. Why? Because clever Daddy has choosen a table just next to those tanks of fishes. We had a very pieceful four course dinner and completed it in less than an hour. We then returned to the resort and went back straight to our room to do some pre-packing.
