EASTER PARTY @ MY PLAY ROOM, BSC

09 APRIL 2012, MONDAY

Yesterday we were in Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) for almost the whole afternoon starting from 2:00pm right up to 5:00pm for their Easter Party that was held at My Play Room, 4th Floor of BSC.  As usual, there were many fun and exciting activities for kids but the main attraction would be the Easter Egg Hunt Contest.

While waiting for the Easter Egg Hunt contest to kick start at 3:00pm, I got Kit boy to go for the simple 'Make Your Own Keychain Workshop' whereby he was asked to choose a picture of his favourite cartoon character and colour it.  Once completed, I helped Kit boy to hand it over to their so called 'Shrink Art Station' for processing. You must be wondering why 'shrink art' instead of something 'keychain' since these kids are making keychains.... well, I was wondering too at that point in time but after seeing what they (the staff) did, now I know.

Something quite unique over here.  Firstly they will cut out the coloured cartoon character and placed it on an aluminium tin foil before putting it into the oven. And in just less than a minute, that piece of paper actually curled and shrunk into much smaller in size.  Next would be punching hole and fixing up the accessories to make it into a keychain. But unfortunately Kit boy's one was accidently spoilt by the person who punched the hole hence was unable to make it into a keychain.  As not to disappoint my boy, I had turned it into a fridge magnet and at the same time 'decorated' it with googly eyes.

'Make Your Own Keychain' Workshop

Now back to the Easter Egg Hunt contest that was opened to the first 100 kids of the day, (aged 3-12 years old) and whoever managed to find all the 10 different coloured eggs will win a prize and there will be 20 prizes to be given away.  Upon registration, we were given a very nice teddy bear together with an empty plastic bag to be used during the hunt.

About 5 minutes before it starts, all participants together with the parents were gathered for a short briefing that includes the rules and regulation.  We were told and reminded many times that parents are strictly not allowed to be in the 'hunting area' hence the kids will have to do it all by themselves.  Kit boy seems to have no problem with that instead got very excited and the minute someone shouted 'GO', Kit boy dashed out very quickly from the crowd and started looking at all the possible hiding place for his treasure egg.  He never stop running around the whole area until we heard someone shouted 'stop' (after 30 minutes).

Easter Egg Hunt Contest

Kit boy happily came back with his plastic bag full of colourful eggs and keep telling me that he has got many eggs.  Immediately I counted the eggs and proudly told Daddy that he had found 10 eggs but because majority of his treasures were the same colour, Kit boy did not win anything.

Besides these two major activities, there were also photo session with the Easter Bunny, Caricaturist, Easter Egg Decorating, free caramel popcorn and other contest like Z-Fencing the balloons.

Overall, it was a very fun-filled event that not only the kids but also the parents had got so much fun especially during the egg hunting when children were running and parents were shouting.

The lovely gift

    1. Cos I personally think that solely depends on books is not enough despite reading is very important but to me, exposure is equally important.
